Should You Book Muay Thai Tickets In Advance? Yes, Sort Of…

Not long ago, I took my 8-year-old daughter on a trip to Tokyo, Japan, during sumo season. I thought it would’ve been a great chance for us to watch the giant Japanese grapplers wrestle each out of the sandy pit. But I quickly found out that the tickets for the entire week were sold out. Not knowing we had to book weeks in advance, we were crushed.

You might have the same concerns about watching Muay Thai in Bangkok – and rightfully so. You don’t want to say you were in the Thai capital but missed out on experiencing one of the richest parts of Thailand’s culture because you couldn’t get tickets to the stadium. Or worse yet, you had to sit in seats you weren’t happy with.

In this guide, you’ll find out which stadiums you need to book Muay Thai tickets for in advance, and which you can show up to and buy tickets on the spot. You’ll even find out about one stadium that doesn’t charge for entry.

Lumpinee Stadium

Lumpinee Stadium is one of the most visited stadiums in all of Thailand. So, it only makes sense to book your tickets in advance. This is especially true if you want the best seats possible and guaranteed entry into the venue. After all, you don’t want to take a taxi all the way to Ram Inthra Road to find out that the show is sold out.

But I suggest you book in advance only if you’re going to a Friday night ONE Lumpinee event, also called ONE Friday Fights. These weekly shows sell out fast, especially the bigger events featuring the promotion’s top fighters.

For the rest of the shows at Lumpinee, such as the Saturday morning Fairtex Fights event or Saturday evening LWC show, you can buy tickets at the stadium. These never sell out.

Rajadamnern Stadium

From Monday to Friday, Rajadamnern Stadium rarely sells out. So, the only reason you need to book your Muay Thai tickets ahead of time is if you want to reserve seats in a certain area of the stadium. If seating isn’t important, you can buy your tickets at Rajadamnern.

On Saturdays, however, Rajadamnern does tend to fill up, especially if its RWS event is stacked with top fighters. In this case, you should book in advance.

Channel 7 Boxing Stadium

Luckily, Channel 7 Boxing Stadium is free to get into for Thais and foreigners. So you don’t have to book tickets for its Muay Thai shows ahead of time. But I do recommend that you get there at least an hour early to ensure you get a good seat.

Siam Omnoi Boxing Stadium

Siam Omnoi Boxing Stadium rarely sells out because it’s the furthest venue from Bangkok and the least convenient to get to. So, you will always have a spot waiting for you at Siam Omnoi. Keep in mind, though, that seating is first-come, first-serve.

How Far In Advance You Should Book Muay Thai Tickets?

You can only book Muay Thai tickets to Lumpinee Stadium and Rajadamnern Stadium ahead of time. In most cases, booking a week or two in advance lets you secure good seats. For ONE Lumpinee events at Lumpinee Stadium, you may need to book ONE Championship tickets as soon as they go on sale, as tickets to these bigger events sell out quickly.
