Thai Fight League: A Brief History

In the early 2010s, Thai Fight became an instant hit in Thailand. It’s original concept pitted the country’s most famous Muay Thai fighters against those of other countries. In a way, the promotion was one of the first to break the mold of traditional Muay Thai.

In 2023, though, it launched Thai Fight League, a weekly Sunday night series that matches up some of rural Thailand’s most exciting fighters. The fighters may not have the same skill level and experience as those fighting in the stadiums, but they come to put on an entertaining show and deliver each week.

Thai Fight League Event Schedule For November 2024

Thai Fight League kicks off every Sunday at Beat Active in Bang Na. The show starts at 6:00 PM and finishes around 8:00 PM. Always check with Beat Active in advance to make sure the schedule hasn’t changed. I’ve left a link in the Where to buy Thai Fight League tickets section.

Thai Fight League Ticket Prices

You have two options for tickets — 1,000 Thai Baht ($30) bleacher seating or 3,000 Thai Baht ($100) ringside seating. Ringside seating prices are steep for what you get. After all, the quality of fights may not be on par with those at the major Muay Thai stadiums in Bangkok. But at 1,000 Thai Baht for bleacher seating, the experience is worth the money.

Where To Buy Thai Fight League Tickets

You can buy tickets in person at Beat Active.

Best Seats

The weekly Sunday Thai Fight League show takes place in the rear of Beat Active next to BITEC Convention Center. Although Beat Active sections off a portion of its venue to the promotion, there are not a lot of seats.

Bleacher Seating

It’s best to get to the venue at least 30 minutes early (5:30) to get a good spot if you plan on watching from the bleachers. For the best viewing experience, sit on either side of the ring, but make sure you’re facing one of the sides of the ring, as pictured above.

Thai Fight League stadium best seats

If you sit facing the corner of the ring, the red LED light boxes will block your view, as will the ring posts. As for selecting a row, pick the highest row available. If not, choose a middle row. But don’t sit in one of the first few rows, especially on the left-hand side when you walk in. There is a giant board blocking the view. You can just make out the top of the board in the picture above.

Ringside Seating

Thai Fight League offers ringside seating in addition to bleacher seating. Ringside seats are available only on the right side of the ring. There are usually three rows of ringside seats available, but for bigger shows they increase the number.

Ringside seating gets you as close to the action as possible. You’ll be able to watch the fighters parade to the ring, experience the intricacies of the wai kru up close and hear every attack land.

Thai Fight League Muay Thai Fights

Thai Fight League is a mix of entertainment Muay Thai and traditional Muay Thai. In typical entertainment format, the fights consist of three, three-minute rounds and fighters can win decision, knockout, or technical knockout. It’s rare that fights go to a draw, but if they do, and they’re a title fight, the fighters will compete in a fourth and final round.

Fights are also traditional in the sense that the promotion lets fighters perform the wai kru, and the traditional music is played live during the fights. The fighters, however, almost always compete with their fists bounded in rope rather than wearing boxing gloves. This adds an extra layer of excitement to the fights.

Dress Code And Bag Policy

There are no dress codes or bag policies to enter Thai Fight League.

Age Restrictions

Children of all ages can enter Thai Fight League, making it the perfect attraction for those on family vacations in and around the Bang Na area.

Food And Drinks

Because Thai Fight League is part of Beat Active and BITEC, you have plenty of options for food and drinks. In the basement level of BITEC, there is a food court and the Food Story market. BITEC also has many restaurants that serve Thai food, Japanese food, pizza, and more. Beat Active has food stands that serve hot dogs, french fries, drinks, beer, and more. Once in the venue, you can order food, drinks, and beer from the waiters and waitresses walking the seating areas. There’s also a bathroom on the ground level of Beat Active.

How To Get To Thai Fight League

Thai Fight League is in the rear of Beat Active, which is connected to Bangkok International Trade and Convention Center (BITEC). BITEC is connected to the Bang Na BTS station by a short footbridge. So, you can take the BTS right to BITEC and walk through the convention center until you reach Beat Active. Then, hang a right and walk toward the rear of Beat Active.

Final Thoughts On Thai Fight League

Thai Fight League is a great venue for those who don’t follow Muay Thai too closely but want to experience an entertaining night of fights either alone, as a couple, or with children. You won’t get to see high-level Muay Thai or experience the traditional ambiance of one of the major stadiums, but the fights deliver on entertainment. I’d suggest getting the 1,000 Thai Baht tickets for the bleacher seats, though. From here, you’ll have great views of the fights.
