Former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nabil Anane faces Suakim PongSuphan PK in a title eliminator headlining The Inner Circle 25, streaming live in Asia primetime from Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, August 7, with the winner earning a shot at reigning champion Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon.
Rambolek dethroned Anane in a five-round decision at The Inner Circle 7 this past March, snapping the Thai-Algerian’s nine-fight unbeaten run. Rambolek used range and low kicks before flooring Anane twice with overhand rights in the third and fourth rounds.
Suakim, 22, enters on a seven-fight winning streak, four by highlight-reel finish, and carries 156 career victories as a former three-division Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion. Anane, who stands six-foot-four, has built his career on a reach and speed advantage across nearly 50 professional fights.
“[Winning is] very important because Boss Chatri [Sityodtong] has already said that whoever wins will face Rambolek. It’s very important for me to go back and get what’s mine,” Anane said.
Anane added that he is not overlooking Suakim despite the title stakes, citing his opponent’s win streak and rising confidence heading into Friday’s card.
Rambolek’s win snapped a nine-fight unbeaten run for Anane that had included victories over two ONE World Champions, Superlek and Nico Carrillo.
