Panpadej Looksuan faces Khunpon Aekmuangnon in the flyweight Muay Thai main event of ONE Friday Fights 166, streaming live from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok on Friday, August 14, with a US$100,000 contract on the line.

Panpadej, 24, opened his ONE Championship run with five straight wins before consecutive losses to Ubaid Hussain and Chartpayak Saksatoon. Khunpon, 20, won his first four fights before a first-round stoppage loss to Isannuea Sor Sasiwat in April.

Both fighters have identified body attacks as central to their game plans. Panpadej’s team studied Superlek’s 2023 knockout of Nabil Anane and Suakim PongSuphan PK’s recent win over Anane as blueprints for handling Khunpon’s height and reach advantage.

“He told me to study the tape of the fight that Superlek defeated Nabil. As we saw in his last fight, he doesn’t handle body shots too well,” Panpadej said.

Khunpon said he has spent his training camp strengthening his midsection after being finished by a body shot in his last fight, while also identifying vulnerabilities in Panpadej’s own defense to the head.
